Winter Wellness for Moms: My Top Self-Care Tips
Okay, let's be real, mama’s. Winter can feel like a never-ending season! The cold, the dark, the
constant sniffles... it's enough to make even the most patient of us want to hibernate. But we can't!
There are kids to take care of, meals to cook, a business to run and so much more, and let's be honest, laundry that never seems to end.
But what if I told you that you can actually survive (and even thrive!) during these winter months?
It's all about focusing on self-care, even if it feels impossible sometimes.
Here are some ideas I want to share that have been tried and tested by yours truly!
Create a Cozy Home Spa Experience
- A hot bath is my absolute lifesaver. I throw in some bath bombs (lavender is my go-to), light a few candles, and even throw in a coffee scrub – pure bliss in my own bathroom!
- While the kids are watching a movie, I slap on a face mask or use my trusty red light therapy mask!
- Deep conditioning treatments are a must! My hair gets so dry in the winter, so I try to give it some extra TLC.
Warm Up with Winter Wellness Drinks
- I'm a tea and coffee addict. Herbal teas like chamomile and ginger are my go-to for calming down after a long day, and I always have to start my day with a hot cup of coffee. ☕
- I know, I know... water is boring. But trust me, it makes a huge difference. I try to keep a water bottle with me and sip on it throughout the day.
Enjoy Winter Self-Care Activities
- Building a blanket fort with the kids is a guaranteed way to bring some joy into the house. Add in a few fun sensory toys.
- We bundle up and go for walks in the park, even if it's freezing. It's amazing how much better I feel after getting some fresh air.
- I try to squeeze in some time for working out before anything else during the day. I wake up at 4 AM to get some movement in. No pressure for you to do the same thing, mama – we're all different and have different schedules, so do what works for you!
Fuel Your Body with Healthy Winter Snacks and the Right Supplements
- Soups and stews are my go-to meals during the winter. They're easy to make and packed with veggies.
- I always keep a stash of healthy snacks on hand, like fruit and nuts.
- Oatmeal is my winter breakfast staple. I top it with fruit, nuts, and a drizzle of honey.
- I make sure my family and I take our supplements religiously, especially in this weather! We've noticed a huge boost in our immune system since incorporating these supplements into our routine.
I know, I know. Self-care can feel impossible when you're juggling kids, work, and all the other demands of motherhood. But trust me, it's worth it. Even small things can make a big difference.
So this winter, let's prioritize our own well-being. Let's survive the season and come out the other side feeling refreshed and ready to take on the new year ahead
